Crunchy Peanut Butter Pretzel Ritz Bars

This no bake, no nonsense dessert is going to knock your family’s socks off.   Peanut butter and chocolate—holy smokes!!  Crunchy, sweet, salty—this bar has it all.  Use whatever kind of chocolate you have on hand for the topping.  The first time I made this I didn’t have milk chocolate chips, but I did have chocolate kisses so I used them. Another time I used half milk chocolate and half dark chocolate because that is what I had.  Perfection!

¾ cup (1 ½ sticks butter, melted

1 cup pretzels, crushed finely

1 cup Ritz crackers, crushed finely

1 ½ cups powdered sugar

1 cup peanut butter, crunchy or smooth

1 ½ cups milk chocolate chips

¼ cup creamy peanut butter

Line a 9 x 13 baking dish with foil, leaving enough foil hanging over edges to pull out of pan for cutting later. Combine melted butter, crushed pretzels and crackers , powdered sugar and 1 cup peanut butter in large bowl.  Mix well and press mixture into the bottom of the foil lined dish.  In a small bowl, melt chocolate and ¼ cup peanut butter in microwave in 30 second intervals until melted, probably about 4 times, stirring in between intervals.  Pour over cracker pretzel mixture in dish and spread evenly.  Refrigerate for 1 hour until chocolate has set.  Pull entire square out of pan using foil edges. Cut into squares.  Enjoy!
