BBQ Beef Patties

This is an old 4-H recipe that I first made when I was 13 years old, and it is one recipe that is in my monthly meal rotation.  These patties are similar to mini meat loaves covered in a sweet BBQ sauce.  You can make these a day ahead of time and pop them in the oven when you get home from work.  One of my and my family’s all-time favorites, and not to brag but I won a blue ribbon at the Lorain County Fair using this dish!

1 ½ lbs. ground beef                               ¼ cup vinegar

1 ½ cups oatmeal or bread crumbs      1 cup ketchup

½ cup ketchup                                         1 cup brown sugar

1 small onion, chopped                           2 T. Wor. sauce

2 T. Worchestershire sauce                    ½ cup water

1 T. garlic powder

Salt and pepper to taste

Combine beef, oatmeal, ¼ cup ketchup, onion, 2 T. Worchestershire sauce and spices in a large bowl.  Form into large size patties and place in a deep greased baking dish.  Mix remaining ingredients together to make sauce and pour over patties.  Bake at 350 for 60 minutes.  Enjoy!
