Beefy Glazed Hawaiian Sliders
These sweet glazed sliders are soooooo good! My son, Steven, requests them quite often. Easy and quick to throw together, they are like sloppy joes, only much, much better. Use whatever kind of cheese your family likes or whatever you have on hand. I have tried cheddar, mozzarella, provolone–all to great tasting results. I usually lightly toast both sides of the rolls in a large frypan with a little melted butter before adding meat mixture so they don’t get soggy.
1 pound ground beef Glaze:
2 cups diced onion ½ cup butter
3-4 cloves minced garlic 3 T. brown sugar
1 small can tomato sauce 2 t. Worcestershire sauce
Sliced or shredded cheese 1 T. prepared mustard
1 T garlic powder
1 pkg. Hawaiian rolls
2 T. prepared mustard
1 t. paprika
Heat oven to 350 degrees. Coat a 9 x 13 baking dish with cooking spray. In a large skillet over high heat. Brown beef for 3 minutes; then add onion, garlic, 2 T mustard, garlic powder, and paprika. Continue cooking until beef is completely brown and onions are soft. Drain fat, then add tomato sauce and stir to combine. Slice rolls in half vertically and place bottom half in prepared dish. Top with beef mixture and cheese. Place top half of rolls on cheese to make sliders. Mix all ingredients for glaze in sauce pan over medium heat until smooth and melted. Pour over sliders and seal with foil. Bake at 350 degrees for 30 minutes until heated and bubbly. Enjoy!
